Some shots from the old town of Vilnius, Lithuania today! Went on a walking tour today but too exhausted to do a second one in a row today. Now time to find a park and do some reading!

Quick pitstop in the very Lithuanian city of Kaunas to see some more architecture and to grab a quick (iced) coffee!
Checked out the Hill of Crosses on this trip to Vilnius. People have been leaving crosses here on this hill for hundreds of years + it has become a symbolic place not just for religion but for hope. Also bonus at the end: even the state of Texas has made it this far out here
Got to walk around the Rundāle Palace and it's gardens for a little bit this morning, too. Super beautiful gardens & the hedges did make for a bit of a maze getting out!
Saw a very interesting Holocaust memorial outside of Riga today. Particularly interesting because it not only was built to honor those who died, but to promote the "Soviet liberators" (see 3rd sculpture) in a very self serving way.
Last but not least: a bit of the canal, the black cat across from the old merchants guild, and the "three brothers" buildings!
And how about the Latvian Academy of Sciences building, built by the Soviets? Rather interesting, and includes a rarely-seen-here hammer and sickle!
